Didrex

Didrex also called by benzphetamine, is a sympathomimetic amine, which is similar to an amphetamine. It is also known as an "anorectic" or "anorexigenic" drug. Benzphetamine stimulates your central nervous system (nerves and brain), which increases your heart rate and blood pressure and decreases your appetite. Benzphetamine is used as a short-term supplement to diet and exercise in the treatment of obesity. Benzphetamine may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.

Didrex Ingredients

Didrex has active ingredients - benzphetamine hydrochloride.

Didrex Dosage

Take Didrex about 30 minutes before a meal. Your last dose of the day must be taken at least 4 to 6 hours before bedtime. If you will be taking Didrex 1 time a day, take your dose in the morning. Didrex must be stored at room temperature below 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light. If you miss a dose of Didrex, take it as soon as possible. But, Do not take 2 doses at once.

Didrex Side Effects

Possible side effects include restlessness, nervousness, difficulty sleeping, or dry mouth. If they continue or are bothersome, consult your doctor.

Didrex Precautions

  • Before using Didrex, discuss your complete medical history with your doctor. Donít use Didrex if you were a patient of any kind brain or spinal cord disorders, heart problems, high blood pressure, glaucoma, or hyperthyroidism in the past.

  • Drug interactions can result in dangerous side effects. They can even prevent a medicine from doing its job. If you have recently taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) such as guanethidine, isocarboxazid (Marplan), furazolidone, tranylcypromine (Parnate), or phenelzine, donít use Didrex. Some other drugs not listed here may also interact with Didrex.

  • If you are going for any medical or dental treatments, any type of surgery or emergency case, during the course of Didrex, first tell the doctor that you are using Didrex.

  • Do not extend the prescribed time period of Didrex use without consulting your doctor as it may cause serious side effects.

  • Didrex is restricted for pregnant ladies, breast-feeding mothers and children.

  • The worst thing about Didrex is that it is habit forming. Hence talk to your doctor about stopping this medication gradually after using it for a longer period of time as you may become physically or mentally dependent on it.
