Kaposi's Sarcoma Causes

Kaposi's sacoma is caused by a virus known as the human herpesvirus type 8 (HHV-8). Its not necessary that people with this virus will develop kaposi's sarcoma. People with weak immune system may get Kaposi's sarcoma. People who have AIDS can get this kin cancer very easily as their immune system is too weak. In Aids effected people this skin cancer can cause severe damage and can lead to death also as it can spread to internal organs also like lungs.KSHV is transmissible during organ transplantation and to a lesser extent through blood transfusion .

Studys also not have shown why these viruses causes this cancer but theses virus brings genetic material into the cells. These genes cause the cells to divide too much and to grow into nearby tissues and a result a cancerous tumors. Men gets this cancer more than women, this cancer is common in men having sex with men.

Surgery- In surgery doctor can remove the skin by removing the skin that is effected by tumor . Electrodesiccation and curettage and Cryotherapy are used for surgery option.Curette a round instrument is used to scrape the cancerous skin and then the skin is burned with an electric needle that helps in destroying the remaining fatal cells in the skin and also helps in stopping the bleeding.

Chemotherapy-Chemotherapy uses drugs to kill cancer cells.Pill are taken in the therapy or medicine can be put directy into your veins.Chemotherapy is called a systemic treatment because the drug enters the bloodstream, travels through the body and can kill cancer cells outside the original site.

Radiation Therapy-In this treatment the affected area is projected by X-rays directly on the tumor without cutting the skin. For complete removal of the cancer cells the procedure is followed for various weeks. But the treatment can have side effects of radiation . Radiotherapy are also done after the surgical treatment to ensure that it dies not reoccur on the skin back.

Biological Therapy- In biological therapy the immne system is made strong by intake of several materials made by the body or made in a laboratory to boost it.
