Pro-Fast is an appetite suppressant that affects the central nervous system. Pro-Fast is used together with diet and exercise to treat obesity (overweight) in people with risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes. Pro-Fast Ingredients

Phentermine hydrochloride is the only active ingredient in Pro-Fast tablets. Phentermine hydrochloride is an anorectic and is prescribed for short-term weight loss in obese patients.

Pro-Fast Dosage

Pro-Fast medication should be taken on a daily basis two hours after breakfast, and should be ingested at least 10 hours prior to bed, as it is known to cause insomnia. Hydrochloride acts as a stimulant on the central nervous system, and is only effective on a short-term basis. Physicians should prescribe this medication for a time period no longer than three consecutive months.

Pro-Fast Side Effects

Pro-Fast side effects can include irritability, dry mouth, dizziness, increased blood pressure,insomnia, depression, nervousness, blurred vision, headache, nausea and change in sex drive. Doctor consult should be taken immediately if you notice any serious side effects such as chest pain, trouble breathing, swelling in lower extremities, decreased ability to exercise or fainting.

Pro-Fast Precautions

You should not take Pro-Fast if you are allergic to it, or if you have:
  • coronary artery disease (hardening of the arteries);
  • heart disease;
  • severe or uncontrolled high blood pressure;
  • overactive thyroid;
  • glaucoma;
  • if you have a history of drug or alcohol abuse; or
  • if you are allergic to other diet pills, amphetamines, stimulants, or cold medications.
To make sure you can safely take Pro-Fast, tell your doctor if you have any of these other conditions:
  • high blood pressure;
  • diabetes; or
  • a thyroid disorder.
