Surgical Hair Replacement

Surgical hair replacement or simply the hair transplantation is the transfer of some hair from a bald resistant area to a bald area. Most of the bald resistant area of the men and women lies on side and back of the head. Sometimes we call bald resistant area a donor site and bald area a recipient site. There are some hair transplantation surgery which are mostly uses in today's world.

Follicular Unit Strip Surgery (FUSS)- In this procedure, a strip of hair from the donor region is taken and implanted on the thinning or balding area. Sutures are then used to close the donor area. The area would take several days to heal. This procedure is best for average to extreme balding cases since it allows several grafts to be transplanted in a single session.

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) - This procedure is more recent and more popular than the first one. What happens here is that the strands of hair are transplanted from the back and sides of your head in groups of one up to four, since this is how hair naturally grows. Because it mimics how human hair actually grows, the procedure delivers results that look more natural. Another advantage that this procedure has over the other is that it does not involve major and deep cuttings. Thus, the recovery time is shorter and the scars that arise are fewer.

Scalp Reduction surgery  - It is a procedure that takes advantage of the natural stretchiness of skin. The surgeon removes a section of bald skin and judiciously pulls up the hair-bearing portions of the scalp so that they cover more of the head. For some people, this is all that needs to be done and they are happy with the results. There are several ways to place the incisions in this procedure and you and your surgeon will pick the one that is most suitable.
